    Hello!

I am sorry I did not see this question in time to answer it in the live!

I would suggest pausing it for now as it really depends on the type of supplements you take. you dont want to disrupt anything and its hard for me to give you a definite answer without having your full history and all the info on the medication you are currently only I would say try diffusing it rather than applying topically for now 🙂

Kate, unfortunately there is not way I could legally advise you on this without you being a client and doing intake and assessment forms. There are so many factors to consider for each individual person. i would suggest starting with a small amount of time (a week or 2).

You’re only supposed to do a small sip with them and take them right before meals or during. If youre drinking alot with it, it will cause heartburn. If you’re not drinking a lot and are getting heartburn, it could also mean it is stuck in your throat which is why I like taking it BEFORE meals so that the food pushes it down. if youre taking it before meals with a small amount of water and still having issues, you might not need it.

yes a colon cleanse is ALWAYS a good idea!

Cellulite is actually caused by toxicity !

The hypodermis is the deep skin layer in the body. It is mainly composed of adipose (fat) cells, in which reserves of fat are stocked. When the body – and the skin in particular – no longer manages to eliminate waste, it attempts to set it aside by stocking it in tissues of lesser importance. One of such tissues is the hypodermis. This accumulation of fats and toxins in the organic liquids of the hypodermis is called CELLULITE.

So essentially, cellulite is an accumulation of toxins within the deeper layers of the skin. When you body gets overloaded with toxins and you dont sweat as efficiently or excrete toxins as efficiently, your body will trap toxins in the deeper layers of the skin causing cellulite.

I normally don’t work with individuals who have cancer. That being said, there is a lot of literature talking about low WBC and our immune system. Of course, it will vary from person to person however the info I am sharing below seems to be pretty consistent. It gets a bit technical but hopefully explains why you want to be supporting Th1.

Adequate production of WBCs depends on the self-renewal of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC’s). HSC’s require autophagy (proper clearing of debris) to self-renew. Autophagy depends on interferon gamma (a Th1 cytokine) and is inhibited by IL-4 (a Th2 cytokine). So, it makes sense to support/promote Th1 response and inhibit/downregulate Th2 response.

The Natural Killer cell activation that is driven by supplements such as astragalus, andrographis, ganoderma is a co-promoter with Th1 activation, so supporting an adequate innate immune response is also a good idea.
With regard to cancer, if you dig into the literature, you’ll see that immunologically, it is a good idea to be supporting Th1 response. So, increasing wbc count is driven by Th1 response and likewise improving immune surveillance against cancer cells also involves promoting the adequacy of the Th1 response.

Adaptogens (astragalus, holy basil, etc), medicinal mushrooms, greens powder, Berberine, and a few other supplements can be very helpful in supporting a Th1 immune response.

I am not sure what he is referring to!

Tomatoes have one of THE highest lectin contents of all nightshades, legumes, etc. They are the #1 food to avoid especially when you see how individuals with chronic inflammation react to them.

Sinus allergies are from th2 dominance most often. It is important to address the root cause of the imbalance (most likely pathoegnic imbalance in the respiratory system) and I personally don’t think steroids are the way to go.

The corticosteroid nasal spray will stop the sinus inflammation in the short term. However, it will promote Th2 dominance which is the exact opposite of what we want. Cortisol induces apoptosis of Th1 cells and Natural Killer cells, so whatever bacteria is in the sinuses will thrive as soon as the steroid is stopped and the bacterial sinusitis will come flaming back.

Glutamine, Glutathione, microbiome repair, soluble fiber, promotion of oral tolerance (through vagal nerve stimulation), all those things will support the sinuses long term.

in reply to: Astragalus contraindicated in autoimmune? #684

People who don’t understand how the immune system works will say to not use Astragalus.
They think that the immune system goes up and down meaning if you have autoimmune disease, you want your immune system to go down, so it doesn’t attack your own tissue. This is a very old and simplistic way of thinking about the immune system and frankly, is very inaccurate.

The immune system is not this simple. It has many different players doing different things.
Astragalus promotes Natural Killer cells with lead to more IFNgamma which leads to inhibition of Th17 cell production of IL-17 a and f, IL-21, IL-22. When the levels of these inflammatory cytokines go down, Autoimmunity is reduced.
So, astragalus is very appropriate in autoimmune diseases and should be taken.

I’d like to remind you that I cannot diagnose conditions or diseases however I have seen some patterns in my practice over the past few years.
A salty taste in the mouth can accompany Sjogren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease. It is always best to get testing done by your doctor to determine the cause.

Charcoal can be great… I am also a fan of chlorella!

Any brand of charcoal is OK as long as it is Organic. i use Organika personally (same thing for chlorella).
