I read in some articles that claim that many fish oil and cod liver oil on the market are actually presented as  rancid and ineffective . They use flavor to mask the taste.  There is another company that produced a different fat supplement: containing  C:15  that claims it more effective.  What are your thoughts on fish oil rancidity? And do you have recommendations on any fat oil supplements you find effective to take ? (I’m trying to manage psoriasis /eczema)

Yes they absolutely can be rancid, full of hevy metals and toxins! Most brands are cheap and do not do 3rd party testing for potency, purity and quality. I ONLY use pure encapsulations or genestra fish oil as they go through heavy 3rd party testing for heavy metals, contaminants and are protected with antioxidants to rpevent rancidity.
