ParticipantHi again! ๐
My question is about sugars.
I want to choose the sugars thatll have least effect on these following: cancer cells, candida, inflammation, blood sugar spikes, eczema.
Also what type of stevia would be best to consume? I know about green but I always only see organic white extract at stores. Im currently taking that. But don’t know how good it is.
I’m also having 100% pure organic maple syrup because I heard it dosnt really cause inflammation or blood sugar spikes used in moderation. But let me know otherwise.
Thanks ๐

KeymasterAll sugars can feed cancer cells and trigger inflammation, even natural sugars.
The healthiest sugars are raw honey as they are antibacterial and support the immune system but should only be consumed very conservatively. I also like raw dates to sweeten things too and coconut sugar. Monk fruit and lucuma powder are great alternatives also.
For stevia, the best is green stevia which you can buy online (I like Organic Traditions). Otherwise, stevia extract (aka tincture) is good.

ParticipantThankyou for reply!
I forgot to mention unfortunately I’m on a low fodmap diet. So I can’t have any of those sugars as they high fodmap. I’m also surprised you haven’t covered fodmaps in any of your youtube videos. Any reason why?? When I have high fodmap foods I get massive IBS flares!! The fodmap university app guides me on what to avoid and what to eat. Maple syrup and stevia are completely fodmap friendly that’s why I have them. Wish I can have those other sugars you mentioned ๐ Anyway it is pretty difficult when the best sugars i cant have… LOL.
So would pure maple syrup be ok?
Thankyou for help though ๐ xxx

KeymasterI have talked about fodmaps WITHIN videos but i have not made a video all on its own because I am not entirely in the belief that ALL fodmaps need to be avoided just like lectins. some people insist that ALL lectins need to be cut out whereas I am more interested in only cutting out the MAIN high lectin or MAIN high FODMAP foods as I like to focus on the root cause instead.
Maple syrup is OK but it is just like liquid sugar so essentially would still cause inflammation, etc. However, in very tiny amounts, im sure it is fine ๐ One thing to note though… if FODMAP foods flare your IBS, then you shouldnt be having ANY sugar, not even 1 gram worth until you’ve improved your IBS/SIBO. Hope this helps!
