ParticipantHello everybody
Wearing face masks is the new normal.
Is anyone experiencing face acne when wearing face mask, Love to hear your tips on how to prevent this for happening.September 1, 2020 at 12:16 pm #1128Marla Pietruszko
KeymasterHaha love the term ‘Maskne’!!
I personally don’t wear masks. I say that I have a medical exemption (which I do – extreme claustrophobia) and no one has issues with it!

ParticipantHi Marla
I know its awesome, right! 🙂
Unfortunately, where I go shopping the stores are not that understanding and I don’t have a reason for exemption, so I would still have to wear my mask and hopefully this whole thing would be over soon. Thanks for sharing!

ParticipantHi Bibi! YES! I work in an assisted living community and have been wearing masks daily at work since March. The past month I’ve started bringing my own cloth masks and changing those daily which I think has helped (one mask/week that work provides just felt like it trapped the dirt in). I was able to clear up my acne on my forehead and nose that I have had for years, but terrible acne/inflammation because of the mask started to come up. I use Shelby Naturals products, do a yogurt mask in the evenings when I think of it and try to just work on my inflammation. It’s still not clear but that has helped keep it at bay, or at least made me feel like I was doing something. 🙂 Best wishes!

ParticipantHi Scochran96!
It must be challenging when you have to work and wear a mask, Im glad you found new ways of reducing your maskne.I also switched to a cloth mask and I noticed the cotton ones work better on my skin and kept breakouts to a minimal.I will look into Shelby Natural Products. Thanks for the suggestions!Keep Well and be safe:)October 5, 2020 at 12:08 am #1510Marissa Alphonse
ParticipantYES!!! Acne along my jawline so bad with the masks! I’ve been using tea tree oil on my skin at night and it helps!

ParticipantHello Marissa!
I’m glad tee tree oil is working for you:), just wondering do you apply it straight to your face or do you mix it with a carrier oil?October 7, 2020 at 8:12 pm #1556Marissa Alphonse
ParticipantHi Bibi! So I moisturize my face like normal, then I apply rosehip seed oil all over my face on top of my face lotion. Then I put a few drops of tea tree into my palm and apply it with my other hand to just the problem areas, being careful to avoid my eyes and mouth. If I were to mix the rosehip and tea tree together and apply all over it would most likely get into the sensitive areas of my face so that’s why I do it this way! 🙂

ParticipantThanks Marissa! Great suggestion! I will try this with jojoba oil as I don’t have rosehip seed oil on hand. I’ll mix and apply as you suggested, I hope it works for me too 🙂
