ParticipantDear Marla,
I’ve read some other forum answers you gave about gerd and I wanted to expand on them a little.
You said it’s caused by poor vagal motor nerve outflow triggered by inflammation in the colon from pathogens and food sensitivities. How do you fix the vagal nerve problem? Is a tens machine enough? For what duration should someone focus on improving the vagus nerve response? For as long as you experience gerd symptoms?
Also, what is a colon cleanse and when can you do it?
Is betaine hcl good for gerd? Can someone with gastritis take it or would it cause heartburn in that case?
If you eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of three big ones, should you take a digestive enzyme with each one? Like 5 instead of 3?
Are probiotics ideal for gerd? Can you take them all throughout the first months of liver/kidney drainage, the candida and parasite cleanse and onward? Everyday? I read somewhere you can a month on, a month off?

KeymasterTo improve vagal tone, you do TVNS with a TENS unit. it is something that can be done daily and then gradually decreased to once per week and then several times per month for maintenance. it can be done lifelong!
A colon cleanse consists of pathogen cleanse (aka candida cleanse – i have an ebook protocol on http://www.holisticspring.com) while also eating lots of fiber, taking chlorella/chlorphyll and lots of water/herbal teas to push everything out of the colon.
HCl can be GREAT for GERD/gastritis however each person is different and will respond differently. if you are going to try it, start with a small dose (1 capsule – 500mg) and then increase from there depending how you feel.
If you have GERD/digestive issues, you should only eat 3 meals per day to improve peristalsis/MMC/vagal tone. however if you are snacking and have gas/bloating/digestive issues then yes, take enzymes with them.
YES probiotics are great and should be done everyday for the first year then every other day for a little while then once per week then month on month off. Of course this is general recommendation and it may need to be different for everyone.
