I am very interested lately about eating not only organic, but local foods, and eating with the seasons. I am very curious what are your thoughts about this topic. I would like to find out more research about it.

For example are we meant to live based on the local foods that are normaly growing in the region that we were born?  For example, i live in Europe, Romania, we have 4 seasons, and normaly here we don’t have tropical fruits, so is our body meant to eat tropical fruits if we don’t live in a tropical country? , is our gut and body made to live only on the vegetables, fruits , grains, etc that grow on our birth land? Is the globalisation, and importing foods helping us being healthy, by eating a wider variety of foods, or we should mainly (60-80%) stick to what ever grows on our land, region, continent.  If I think about our grandparents, and ancestors, they were consuming only what the land was giving them.

Are we getting healthy by eating a larger variety of foods or are we increasing maybe food sensitivities by eating soo many foods? Does this makes sense :)) I hope so. I am curious to know your thoughts.

I am also working towards building my own garden, and grow as many vegetables as i can. Can’t wait for that

    Hi raluca,

this is a very interesting topic you are bringing forth! I do believe that everyones digestion is different based on their ethnicity and genetics however, i also believe that the body adapts to where you are living and the foods it is used to eating. I do think eating with your ethinic roots ids important while still eating what is available to you locally as those foods will contain specific probiotics and nutrients needed to fight pathogens in that specific area. does this make sense?

I personally havent done enough researched ot see if we should ONLY be eating foods from our native country or not but like i said our bodies do adapt and the foods growing within our own country that we are currently living in contain what we need to thrive in THIS area so i am a huge fan of eating local!

you would not increase food sensitivities by eating more variety. the more variety the better for sure 🙂

    Love having our own garden!
