PS
ParticipantHello Marla,
My 15 months old baby has been sick for 6 days. It started with fever and I caved in and gave him Tylenol 4 times. The fever was better by day 3 but he started to get congested and started to cough with some runny nose. Last night he kept waking up because of coughing episodes and today he threw up twice after a coughing episode. He’s eating very little fruit purées and is mostly taking European baby formula. I’m giving him imugen and homeopathic nose spray and steam showers. They help but it’s only getting worse. He doesn’t want to drink water either. So I’m guessing his taste buds aren’t working normally. What can I do for him supplement wise and food wise? What did your kids like to eat when they were sick. Also is it normal for symptoms to continue to get worse for 6 days? I also gave him ginger, clove, reishi and very little throat coat. How much throat coat can I give to him? thank you

KeymasterHey!
I cant give specific recommendations without being his practitioner and especially without knowing his full health history however below are some things you can try WITH the approval of his doctor:
1. Liposomal glutathione -50-80mg depending on his weight
2. Astragalus – can do tea form or mix the pwoder in apple sauce
3. Probiotics – 50 billion cfu
4. Echinacea tea
I usually offer coconut water when sick and broths (veggie and chicken) – i dont usually do much solids except smoothie with a spoon or apple sauce as they dont usually feel like eating much.
Depending on the pathogen, yes it is normal for things to continue to get worse. Often when tylenol is given it weakens the immune system response so the body ahs a harder time fighting the virus/bacteria. not saying that to make you feel bad for giving tylenol as I too will sometimes give it if ear ache pain is severe etc and every parent is just doing the best they can! Just mentioning it so you’re aware that that can happen 🙂
Ginger, reishi are fantastic!
Throat coat tea can be done once or a twice a day 🙂
Hope this helps and hope your little man gets better ASAP! keep me posted and let me know if you have more questions!
