I am currently reading this book! I have a question regarding the author’s viewpoint that “Tier/Level 1” foods including preservatives, chocolate, tea, etc. are always stomach irritants for anyone with health issues. Do you think this mean cocoa in general, or more so sugar-loaded chocolate? Also, I drink a green tea everyday. I’m wondering if by consuming green tea and 100% baking chocolate everyday if I am irritating my stomach and preventing healing/proper digestion?

He means mostly junky chocolate but cocoa is very acidic so can be irritating also. You don’t wan tot eat anything in excess, so chocolate should be more of a treat. baking something with chocolate in it is probably fine because it is a small amount. The biggest concern is for those drinking coffee everyday while eating chocolate frequently, etc so I wouldnt worry 🙂

Thank you Marla! Just now seeing this! 🙂 I cut back on chocolate 2 days ago and had a bad migraine yesterday. I guess that goes to show how much I eat it….. not good 😮 Trying to just have cocoa nibs every couple days instead of 100% cocoa and baking nibs everyday. Besides sugar and what used to be peanut butter, chocolate is my weakness for sure.
