Patryk P.
ParticipantHello my name is Patryk and I am new to the platform,
I stumbled across one of your You tube channels by accident for just over 2 years now and I must say it is thanks to You how my health awareness and “awakening” got started. Thank You for that with all my heart as I feel my entire family is benefiting from this.
I was hoping to get some potential insight on Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) or low platelet count. My son (9yrs old) has been dealing with this since he was 4. His blood platelet counts have been stable in the range of 20,000-40,000/μL of blood, which is quite low for normal counts are 150,000-350,000. After several tests the hematologist stated that platelet production is not an issue but his system is destroying them pretty efficiently. All other blood key markers are spot on. His typical platelet counts are in the range where he can function day to day without treatment but not high enough to lead a normal kid life playing sports or jumping around without unsightly bruising and us worrying all the time for his well being. Otherwise he hardly ever gets sick, never had ear infections as a child, don’t recall him every being on antibiotics. Honestly I am tired of routine blood monitoring and don’t what the toxic chemical meds/treatments for him anyway. The doctor has also brought up a potential splenectomy as a future alternative… :0 . I mean, really!!? Obviously traditional medicine is not the way to go here.
It is my understanding that ITP is a form of autoimmune disorder. I have spent the past two years researching all sorts of alternative treatments, reading books/articles on Gemmotherapy, Oligotherapy, Homeopathics, Ayurvedic, and Chinese medicine. Also, I’ve been learning from other sources: You especially Marla (love your attitude, approach, knowledge, and desire to help others heal), Dr. Thom, Dr. Axe, Dr. Berg, Max Lugavere to name a few.
All this research has lead to our entire family changing how and what we eat. We have always eaten healthy home cooked food with as much grass fed and organic sources as possible. But as of last two years we’ve cut out almost all mainstream processed food & snacks, sugar, all veg/corn/soy oils, fast food, and severely limited gluten. Kids only eat sugar when we go out for ice cream maybe once every 1-2 weeks. We use stevia, yacon syrup, and occasionally maple and honey.
My sons current treatment approach: (going on 4 months now – next blood work is in December).
- Genestra Hemo-gen (Tamarisk, Dogwood, Hornbeam) along with Oligo Cu & MnCu (3 weeks on, 1 week off; 3 rounds then 1 month off).
- Daily probiotics (Mary Ruth’s), c0d oil (Nordic Naturals), multi vitamins (SmartyPants)
- I also frequently put Ashwaganda and Medicinal mushrooms(Naturealm Sacred 7) into his smoothies.
I’ve read about additional potential herbal/gemmo treatments such as: Sheperd’s Purse, Yarrow, Field Horsetail, Nettle, Dog Rose, and Papaya Leaf but have not tried those to date.
Anyways, sorry for the book but wanted to give some back story on where we are and how we got here. I understand you cannot give full treatment protocols as every case is different but I would appreciate any additional insight on how to help my son boost his platelet count and rid himself of ITP. Could a virus or parasite be in part responsible?
Best regards,
Patryk in Texas

KeymasterHello Patryk, Welcome to the platform! So happy to have you here 🙂
I want to start by saying that this type of autoimmune is quite complicated (as I am sure you know) and is affected by several different factors (genetics, stress, lifestyle, family history, health history, environment, toxicity load, etc). I cant appropriately give advice especially for children without doing full health intake, etc as the route you would take to improve this condition GREATLY depends on many different factors mentioned above.
That being said, Vitamin K, D, and C are always good ideas as they help to reduce bruising and increase platelets. Getting your son a full food sensitivity panel (I like ELISA panel #5) to determine if anything he is currently eating (could be healthy foods too) is triggering his immune response is a good idea also.
Have you been working with a practitioner for this protocol he is on or is it something you are doing on your own? I would highly suggest doing spleen and liver drainage with homeopathics also. I am not sure if you tried Chinese medicine but you may want to check out Yiqi Shexue formula for Treatment of Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia. This formula works on regulating Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg cells and genetic defects contributing to ITP. Here is a link to great research study explaining the mechanism and molecular targets of the herbs in the formula: https://WWW.FRONTIERSIN.ORG/ARTICLES/10.3389/FPHAR.2019.01136/FULL
At the end of the day, autoimmunity is from a dysregulation in immune cells (th1, th2, th9, th17) and regulating those should be the primary focus however determining which immune cells are out of balance and which to downregulate will require extensive health intake and history which I dont have so it would be irresponsible for me to suggest anything else without having your son as a client unfortunately 🙁
Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will think on this more and see if there is anything else I can add 🙂

ParticipantMarla,
Thank U so much! Appreciate your advice. I will look into ALL the info you provided.
You are right, the protocol I came up with on my own. I’ve used homeopathic medicine before on my little daughter with great success when all the doctors wanted to do was give her antibiotics and a series of surgeries on her ever swelling eye lid. If anyone wants the details of this story I can share it but don’t want to write another book here. Long story short I know homeopathy is safe (when used properly) and wanted to do the same for my son.
Like I said before, after I stumbled on your you tube channel, my eyes opened up and I decided to stop waiting for doctors to help and take my family’s health into my own hands. You gave me the inspiration to look into concepts like the aip diet, drainage, etc… After reading a few books like:“Gemmotherapy and Oligotherapy….” by Marcus Greaves and “UNDA numbers an energetic journey….” by Dick Thom, I decided the Hemo gen and Oligo protocol would be a good start and the least harmful approach. Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine was the next step as with that one I don’t feel as comfortable administering myself. Will definitely look into the info you provided and compare my old notes. I’m an engineer so I am relatively good at research but not quite a holistic practitioner 🤗Anyways, we will continue out healing journey. Thank You again for such an ample response. I know you are very busy so really appreciate it. Sorry for the book one more time.
PatrykPS. What is your view of bio magnetic pair medicine? I know a Mexican dr Isaac Goiz Duran has pioneered a lot of development in this field and it’s also used to “detoxify “ the blood of parasites. However very hard to find reliable info on it online.

KeymasterPatryk is it very impressive that you’re doing all this research! It is not easy doing things on your own when you aren’t getting help from doctors so great job!
Just a few things to point out. Homeopathics are safe for all ages but phytogens and Gemmotherapies are not as they are not diluted like homeopathics. Gemmotherapies shouldnt be given to children under 12 and phyto-gens should be used with GREAT care in very small amounts. I typically ONLY use pure homepathics on kids rather than herbs or phytos/gemmos to be on the safer side, except for specific circumstances.
As far as bio magnetic pair medicine goes, to be honest I’ve never had it done and I dont see many practitioners around here practicing it so i dont have much of an opinion on its effectiveness! Im a huge fan of accupunture/accupressure, TENS, and infrared therapy.

ParticipantMarla,
Thank you again. I appreciate all the feedback and info. I will be very careful with any phyto/gemmo treatments, have been giving my son around 1/3 of the adult dose so far. You gave me some great pointers and ideas on where to go next. I will definitively reach out with any future insights and hopefully successes.
In the meantime I also plan to “absorb” the great info on your website.
Regards,
Patryk

ParticipantMarla,
Just an update. I has been a long time but I have not been sitting idle. It came to me that your original advice was best so after trying myself for a bit, I decided to seek out some professional help. We have been working with dr Dickson Thom at the American Center for Biological Medicine (in Scottsdale AZ) since September of last year. I must say he is an amazing person with incredible knowledge and experience.
Initially I thought things would move quickly and we’d be all set in a matter of 6-9 months, but it appears we are not there yet. To date, we have been able to address my son’s eczema and anxiety by a combination of elimination diet (IgG testing) and UNDA/Genestra-gen drops, other supplements. We are still working on ITP (it’s a complicated thing as I am sure you know) but I am very glad I made the attempt to seek out a qualified practitioner. I will keep you posted on my son’s progress.
Thank you again for all your insights, advice, and obviously the great website. I continue to log on, read, and learn from you. Really appreciate all the blog and forum entries.
Regards,
Patryk
