Hi Marla! I’m wanting to know how to bring up my white blood cell count or what can i do? It’s not extremely low just a little. Is there something i can eat or supplements to take? Thank you.

In a person with low wbc count, you want to support Th1 response and downregulate Th2 dominance. Th1 support is generally done with berberine, baicalin, sulforaphane, ginger, echinacea, etc. There are combination products designed to do this Such as Th1 Support. Downregulation of Th2 excess is generally done with perilla, astragalus, NAC and quercetin. There are likewise combinations designed to include these such as Th2 modulator.

If an inflamed person is already taking things to downregulate NFkB, such as curcumin, resveratrol, D, fish oil, etc., but they are Th2 dominant, lowering the doses of these may be appropriate, but you need to watch to be sure the persons inflammation isn’t getting worse. If the TGFbeta blood level is too high, it may indeed be necessary to reduce the dose of these. Again, though this depends on the case and person.

    Hi Marla!

Regarding white bloods cell count, what is the average range should white blood cells be in the body? Is having low white bloods cells harmful?

The normal number of WBCs in the blood is 4,500 to 11,000 WBCs per microliter (4.5 to 11.0 × 109/L). Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different labs. Some labs use different measurements or may test different specimens. Talk to your provider about your test results. Holistic practitioners usually like to see around 8,000.

Low WBC is not great because you wont be able to fight infections, cancers, etc. WBC that is too high isnt good either.
