Do you know of any possible correlation between acid reflux and asthma? My little one gets quite a few asthma flares and we use the homeopathic remedy Ipecac to help resolve it because he typically throws up and complains of stomach pain. I recently read there are often time acid reflux problems that are the culprit without having shown any of the common symptoms. Thoughts?

Yes acid reflux can be caused by poor esophageal function from inflammation (GERD) and poor MMC and vagal tone however there isnt a direct correlation between asthma and acid reflux (that I know of). I think he just has 2 conditions that flare each other up but that arent necessarily correlated.
